Nicarauguan Tamales on White Street
Once again this has little to do with the Parrot except to say that this innocuous , signless storefront on White street houses a tiny 4-stool Nicaraguan eatery that is a fine place to go on a Saturday morning after a Friday night at the bar. One of the four specials offered every saturday is a huge tamale that will assuage any hangover and sedate the inflicted party for most of the afternoon.
The four bicycles balanced against the curb out front translated to a full house inside.
On Sundays the special is Mondongo, the perennial, cross-cultural hangover remedy. More on that later.
